Combine and beat thoroughly eggs, sugar, salt, butter and syrup.
Stir in pecans, vanilla and rum. Fill a prepared 9-inch pie shell.
Bake at 325 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes.
This is such an EASY pie - it's just amazing how easy it is to make. One thing to remember - the middle will still be pretty wiggly when you take it out of the oven. The pie will continue to cook a little and firm up in the middle so please be careful and don't overcook.
